A 217-bed full service community hospital located in the southern section of Lexington, Kentucky. Assigned in Medical-surgical telemetry unit. Specialized in handling patients on Non-invasive ventilation and telemetry monitoring.

• Provides holistic patient-centered care to 5-6 telemetry patients
• Prepares and cares of patients for Coronary Angiography/Angioplasty, pacemaker insertion and other similar procedure
• Performs nursing care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, non-invasive ventilations, etc.
• Maintains quality care and comfort for patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, respiratory failure, stroke, renal failure and other conditions.
• Monitors patient conditions, including interpreting EKG rhythms, identifying irregular telemetry readings,managing dysrhythmia and updating health care team members on changes in stability and acuity.
• Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care using technology, administering medication, performing procedures and managing emergencies.
• Performs Cardiac and Medical infusions per hospital policies
• Documents accurately, concisely and in a timely manner the care provided and its outcome. Skilled in EPIC and Cerner (EMR).
• Promotes teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care planning and implementation.
• Assists in the training and mentorship of student nurses and new nursing staff members, contributing to a positive work environment and high-quality patient care.

A JCI-Accredited 246-bed capacity hospital with focus on its 3 centers of excellence, namely, Oncology, cardiovascular ad Neuroscience. Assigned in Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery/ Pulmonology ward.

PATIENT CARE:

• Prepared and cared for patients for Coronary Angiography with and without coronary intervention, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and other similar procedures
• Handled and provided prescribed treatments and investigations for a variety of patient cases such as blood transfusion, tracheostomy care, chemotherapy, ECG, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, bladder scan, oro/nasopharyngeal and tracheal suctioning, tube feeding, foley catheter insertion and more.
• Prepare and assist physicians with procedures such as thoracentesis, chest tube insertion , lumbar tap as well as other procedures for patients under Oncology, Pulmonology, Opthalmology, Orthopedic, ENT, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Surgery and Rehabilitation
• Enhanced patient care by implementing evidence-based nursing practices and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on industry advancements.
• Improved patient outcomes by continuously assessing conditions and adjusting care as necessary.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process, and management and lifestyle options.
