As a long time employee of Trader Joe’s, I not only gained valuable customer service skills, and formed relationships with the local community and neighbors, I also had the opportunity to create a substantial food and flower donation program , that aided in encouraging the company , as a whole, to implement the donation program as a company standard. They now work with countless food pantries and other charitable , non- profit organizations, nationwide, to provide all non-saleable food and flowers to those in need.
At the initial startup of my involvement, in 2008 , we were even providing fruits, vegetables, and meats to a local wildlife sanctuary as well, until it closed a few years ago.
I worked at this location briefly , I had also worked at a Nashville, TN location before moving to Sacramento.
I found this job to be very fulfilling, creatively!
I enjoyed helping customers find items for their creative projects, as well as hearing about what they were working on.
I was working at JoAnn’s part-time, and then resumed homeschooling my daughter full time. I was a stay-at-home mom prior to this job, and also prior to taking a position at Trader Joe’s.
I’m a passionate advocate for a zero waste, more sustainable lifestyle. I’m an avid gardener, with a small business to help with designing and maintaining gardens in my community.
I grow some of my own food in my personal garden, and am continually learning, to enhance my ability to provide more for my own use, as well as help others to do the same.
I enjoy time at home to create art, whether it’s watercolor painting, mixed media collage, sewing, jewelry making or writing.
I’m a nature enthusiast, spending much time outdoors either gardening , taking walks or hikes for exercise , and getting inspiration from native plant life, or other’s garden landscapes.
I prioritize my health, and enjoy sharing my knowledge about a plant based diet and lifestyle.
