As a Laboratory Technician at Mobay, Miles, Bayer and now Covestro I continually strive to learn and grow to improve my capabilities. In February 1984 I was the first lab tech to ever be sent to Newark Ohio for color correction training for the purpose of returning and assisting in the training of the other lab technicians. In 1986 I became the first Lab Technician in the plant to achieve Advanced Technician status. In the late 1980's and early 90's I assisted in the installation, setup and calibrations of the first FTIT, capillary column Gas Chromatographs, self cleaning Relative Viscosity bath and many other new pieces of instrumentation. I was the first technician to operate the first Compact Disc Injection Molding Machine. In 2005 I was selected to be Laboratory support for the BPA unit startup in Caojing China in 2006. Most recently, in the 2020's I personally took on the task of correcting many TPB terminated RV / MVR correlation's that for some reason had shifted out of correllation. While on shift I realized this problem and working closely with production we were able to correct this issue. This project saved countless tons of offspec materials. During many turnarounds I have volunteered my services as Safety Watch.
