Work History

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Egyptian Space Agency
Cairo
06.2025 - 07.2025
  • Designed MGSE shaker mount in CAD for satellite vibration testing, meeting constraints of <15 kg mass and M8 interface pattern.
  • Conducted FEA and modal analysis in ANSYS on the mount, verifying the first natural frequency exceeded 700 Hz, and learned principles of transient and dynamic structural response.
  • Modeled deployment mechanism for a 1U CubeSat, enabling solar panels to extend and lock at 90.
  • Gained hands-on exposure to aerospace structural design, finite element analysis, mechanisms, and testing.

Intern

Thales Egypt
Cairo
06.2022 - 07.2022
  • Shadowed engineers working on telecommunication and infrastructure projects.
  • Learned to use AutoCAD for drafting and basic modeling tasks.
  • Observed the development of a new metro station plan, focusing on telecommunication system installations.

Projects

  • Ultrasonic Distance Sensor Water Dispenser, Boston University

Built an Arduino-based dispenser with keypad input for precise water volumes. Integrated ultrasonic sensor to detect cups and trigger dispensing.

Designed housing in CAD and 3D printed to fit gallon jugs.

Delivered under a $300 budget; selected for semester-long display at BU Photonics Center.

  • Temperature-Sensing Alert Box, Boston University

Designed and 3D printed enclosure for a compact temperature alert system.

Soldered LEDs, buzzer, and thermistor to Arduino; programmed alarm at >30 C. Demonstrated sensor integration, embedded coding, and mechanical design in one device.
