Work History

Research Experience

Duke University, Center for Virtual Imaging Trials
Durham, NC
01.2024 - Current

Project - The Utility of Photon-counting Localizer Radiograph as a tool in Bone Densitometry.

  • Built a segmentation-based algorithm to determine areal bone mineral density using physical experimental data from photon-counting localizer radiographs.
  • Validated results against standard Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA).
  • Conducted virtual imaging trials using XCAT phantoms simulated through DukeSim to determine optimal imaging parameters for bone densitometry.

Clinical Medical Physics Assitant

UCLA Health
Los Angeles, CA
09.2021 - 06.2023
  • Regularly perform patient Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and Monthly Quality Assurance in four Linacs, including Varian, Tomotherapy, and ViewRay Inc.
  • In charge of handling all patient treatment and DICOM records, including exporting records to other medical facilities and importing received records to our Primary Imaging Software.
  • Successfully contributed to patient treatment planning dosimetry roles in the form of MR and CT fusions and applying contours in Prostate, HDR Pelvis, Lung, and Head and Neck scans.
  • Developed and implemented new workflows in the clinic's primary Imaging Software, MIM.
  • Contributed to brachytherapy procedures, including the building and maintenance of radioactive eye plaques.
  • Ensured complete radiation safety in eye plaque insertion/removal surgical procedures.
  • Effectively analyzed large amounts of clinical data related to multiple research projects

Researcher
