• Supervises and oversees activities of Laborers,Road Equipment Operators and Motor Vehicle Drivers (Road Repairman) engaged in maintenance of County roads, such as grass mowing, snow plowing, Shoulder and road pavement repair, cold aND HOT PAtching and storm drainage.
• Prepares and distributes daily disposition assignment sheets which assign staff, equipment and materials necessary for daily project completion.
• Makes daily inspections of all road maintenance projects and prepares a work report indicating that the project has been inspected with findings and recommendation.
• Assists District Supervisor staff in monitoring, inspecting job status to completion.
• Examines the condition of Cook County roadways and rights of way for deficiencies which require availability; coordinates these factors to complete daily work assignment.
• Monitors and assists District Supervisor in evaluating materials, supplies and equipment availability; coordinates these factors to complete daily work assignments.
• Assist the District Supervisor staff in assessing filed inspection and assigning priorities for scheduling filed work projects.
• Reviews work reports submitted by Laborer Foremen, Road Equipment Operators and and Motor Vehicle Driver (Road Repairman) at the completion of each work day; prepares daily work reports and submits other records and reports as directed by the district.

• Assumed overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Cook County Highway District 5, during a global pandemic.
• Specialized in support systems, inspections and detailed repairs to achieve operational efficiency.
• Read data, specifications to determine best methods to approach maintenance projects and follow established safety rules and procedure.
• Supervise, plan, assign, coordinate and direct the work assignments of support staff engaged in highway maintenance.
• Maintained clear and safe workspace areas to meet OSHA standards.
• Analyzed and identified equipment failure root causes and initiated correction actions.
• Collected data to compile detailed reports for upper management and closely monitored equipment, tools and system upgrades.
• Year round maintenance of Cook County roads and highways: this includes, but not limited to , snow and ice removal, pavement patching and minor resurfacing, storm sewer and culvert repair.
