- More than 26 years have been vested in the field of construction. I've worked on several NYCDDC infrastructure projects throughout New York. These projects include but are not limited to the installation of Trunk and Distribution Water mains, Sewer mains, retaining walls, Catch Basins, and Highway works.
- Engineer In Charge: Managed various types of Infrastructure construction projects with a total value of 300 million from inception to the project closeout. NYC multi-million capital projects include infrastructure construction of new sewer main, water main, and highways. Coordinated project-related activities between NYC sponsor agencies, community representatives and architects/engineers, contractors, sub-contractors, and utility companies to resolve any field problems involving design and other issues. Participated in construction alignment meetings and constructability meetings with infrastructure design, utility companies, and other agency representatives. Conducted preconstruction and project kick-off meetings, scheduling, and final inspections. Evaluated existing site conditions with respect to contract requirements and made recommendations. Monitored schedules and ensured that projects were completed on time and within approved budget and contract specifications. Assured the design and construction of projects following good engineering practice and NYC standards. Issued directives to contractors to enforce project compliance and other disputed matters. Reviewed and approved contractor's time extension requests, change order proposals, cost breakdowns, progress schedules, and overruns. Visited assigned project sites daily in the performance of the above duties. Conducted project progress meetings during various stages of the projects.
- In charge of citywide NYC_DDC Capital projects, my duties/functions include Reviewing, Analyzing, Modifying, and supervising multimillion sewer main, Trunk and Distribution water mains, and roadway construction projects. Redesigned profile of roadways using horizontal and vertical curbs to create a smooth transition from a change of direction or to spread out the change in grade over a distance. Reviewed and redesigned collapsed retaining walls and stairs for street embankment. Reviewed the physical and chemical analysis of materials supplied by manufacturers to verify compliance with ASTM, ACI, AWWA, and NYC standards & specification requirements. Conducted surveys and prepared layout of all utility and structural interferences with water main, and sewer mains and made recommendations or alternate methods of installations. Assisted in redesigning steel manifolds in constrained areas requiring special pipe configurations to bypass obstacles that necessitated a change in pipe size and equivalent flow requirements. Reviewed CFA and Helical pile layout design and vibration monitoring during pile driving. Prepare and processed Partial payments, change order/ Overrun, final payments, and project closeout. Prepared and drew the As-Built blueprints showing newly constructed sewer mains/water mains/catch basins/sewer chamber inverts using the latest Auto Cad / Microsoft Visio software. Reviewed the design of trench sheeting and temporary bridging for truck loading requiring the use of engineering principles such as stability of structures, pecks pressure envelope for braced cuts, and soil earth pressure calculations. Recommended construction changes to improve dewatering procedures and redesigned water flow drainage elevation points by adjusting curb grades and alignments to ensure proper drainage and acceptable sidewalk/roadway slopes simultaneously meeting existing buildings and driveways.
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Visio, AutoCAD, PIMS, PDMS, and good administrative skills.
