Winchester Student Council, President (Member 2021-2023, President 2023-2024)
- Elected representative of the class of 2024, then elected by fellow council members to the position of president. As a member, I organized food and clothing drives, Black History Month recognition, school wide pep rallies, town wide fundraisers to benefit charity, and ran our social media presence. As president I will take over all communication with administration and other organizations, delegate work to members, lead weekly meetings, and direct our events.
Model United Nations, Officer (Member 2021-2023, Officer 2023-2024)
- Member participating in biweekly meetings during my sophomore and junior years, then elected for an officer position for my senior year. Recipient of the individual Best Delegate Award at the 2022 Boston Invitational UN Conference and Outstanding Delegate Award at the 2022 Winchester Model UN Conference. With my team, we won the Delegation of Distinction Award in 2022 (the highest award given) and the Outstanding Delegation Award in 2023 at the National High School Model UN Conference. As an officer, I will organize our annual conferences for 20+ students traveling to Washington DC, collect research for biweekly meetings, chair mock-committee sessions, and lead our local conference held by our club.
Junior State of America, President (Member 2020-2021, Secretary 2021-2022, Treasurer 2022-2023, President 2023-2024)
- Member participating in political debate across different historical and current events for my freshman year, then I was elected to be secretary, then treasurer, and finally president. As president I will continue to chose topics, led meetings and communicate with members, while also growing our club and coordinating with the national JSA organization. I hope to involve JSA in voter registration initiatives I am helping to implement this year and increase our volunteering opportunities at local polls.
STEM Education Club, President (Member 2021-2022, Officer 2022-2024)
- As a member I designed lessons and experiments and presented to elementary school students. As an officer I guided members on their topics, communicated with elementary school teachers, updated our social media and website, and created my own lessons. As President I hope to grow the club, bring the club’s basis to other high schools in surrounding towns, and will facilitate the merging of STEM Education Club and Chemistry Club.
Teacher's Assistant, Ms. Chakladar at Winchester High School (2021-2024)
- During my sophomore year, I assisted in a College Preparatory Chemistry class of my peers. I helped with lessons, graded homework and classwork assignments, and helped my peers with classwork. During my junior year, I helped prep for Honors Biology, Chemistry, and AP Biology classes. I helped create activities, grade assignments, and organize materials. I will be Ms. Chakladar's TA for Honors Biology again during my senior year.
Student Representative, Search Committee at the First Congregational Church of Winchester (2020-2022)
- One of two selected student representatives during my freshman year. Worked with a multi-generational committee to find a new pastor for a church, writing a sixty page church profile and job posting. Read applications, authored interview questions, and held interviews with candidates. I represented the perspective of the church youth throughout multiple rounds of interviews, which led to finding a new pastor with a commitment to social justice and growing our church’s role in the community.
Biology and Chemistry Tutor, National Honor Society (2022-2023)
- Met with multiple students weekly, using my experience in biology and chemistry to tutor freshmen and sophomores. Helped students with their homework, explained concepts, shared resources, and prepared them for their assessments.
Sprinter, Winchester Track and Field (2023-2024)
- Practiced two hours each day six days a week, competing in weekly meets against surrounding towns. I ran the 100m and 200m sprints during my junior spring season, and will continue through my senior winter and spring seasons.
Member, Winchester High School Diversity Book Club (2022-2023)
- Diversity Book Club was formed by the head of the English Department, who invited students with a love for reading and a commitment to justice to join the club, with a goal of including more diverse perspectives and authors into the Winchester English curriculum. At monthly meetings, we discussed books and placed them for teacher’s libraries, summer reading, and course reading.
Student Journalist, Winchester Public Library, Alcott Youth Magazine, and the Winchester High School Red and Black (2020-2024)
- During my freshman year, I wrote articles on politics and arts for the Alcott Youth Magazine, a youth online magazine, written and run by young women. Throughout sophomore year, I contributed pieces on school events, current events, and art to the Winchester Red and Black, the high school’s student-led newspaper. During my junior year, I was selected to be the student voice of the Winchester Public Library Newsletter. I have written on new developments at the library and will continue to write on new updates and books throughout my senior year.
