I own the following brands: Sansui G 9000, Sansui G 8700DB, Pioneer SX 1280, Pioneer SX 950, Marantz 1330B, Marant 2270, Marant 2240, Fisher 800C, Fisher 634 (quadrophonic), Technics SA-600, Technics SA-500, Technics SA-400. The Fisher 800C is the oldest. It produced in 1962. It's out put power is 35 watts per channel. It is a tube Receiver. Even though it is the oldest to me it sound the best. It is hand to choose between the Sansui and Pioneer. The Pioneer sx 1280 is 180 watts per channel and the Sansui's are each 160 watt per channel. Marant 1330B is 130 watts per channel and Technics SA-600 is 110 watts per channel. The fisher 634 is 30 watts per channel. But do not let the watts deceive you, each one of the mention receiver will push any speakers you throw at them and sounds very beautiful plus they look gorgeous. I rather not try to explain the sound but you just want hear it yourself to appreciate it. All the ones I own where produce in 1978 or earlier but it is hard to find an amplifiers that will sound as good as these below $10,000.
