  • In Public Contact GS-10, I have provided information and assistance to veterans and their families throughout the nation.
  • Counseling them in the office, by telephone or while I’m out doing outreach events in the community informing them about the available benefits within the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as available benefits through other organizations and agencies throughout the state and the nation.
  • Assist them with filling out documents as well as gathering evidence needed to support whatever benefits they are seeking.
  • Perform duties as the Minority Veterans Program Coordinator, Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator (Male) and Rural Outreach Coordinator.
  • I’ve conducted over thousands of interviews, taken thousands of claims, while performing hundreds of outreaches in the capacity as Minority Veterans Coordinator or Rural Outreach Coordinator as well as representing our Waco Regional Office at stake holder’s events, concerned veteran’s organizations throughout the state, town halls or wherever our services are requested and approved by our station.
  • Serve as a resource for the veterans or any attendee inquiring about VA benefit information or available services.
  • Advocate for the veterans and their families in dealing with other organizations and elements that may affect their benefits.
  • Explain to the veterans and their families about any and all evidence needed to perfect their claim and benefits as well as the laws, rules and regulations involved in the process.
  • Perform duties as well answering the Veterans Services Officer telephone line within our Waco Regional Office.
  • I’ve answered over thousands of telephone calls and inquiries concerning our veterans and their families.
  • Typed thousands of letters requested by the VSO’s, veterans and their families as well as assist and provide them with any information they may need on a daily basis.
