I started at the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce in April of 2010 after I retired as the Postmaster of Oldsmar. I was the Business Agent for Pinellas County working through the Chamber and covering Oldsmar and Safety Harbor. We then started a manufacturing organization which was part of the Chamber and FloridaMakes Networks Association. In 2015 the Chamber was in trouble financially and the Board of Directors asked me if I would take over as the Pres/CEO and I accepted. We did not know where our next payroll for the employees was coming from. It took about 4 months to right the ship by contacting our outstanding members and getting them to become current. In 2017 we were voted the Chamber of the Year by the FACP. We grew the Chamber from 280 members to 450 by the time I left in 2020. When I left the Chamber we had $175,000 in the bank. We then purchased an RV that we converted into a mobile office to use for our 3 major events, a 10ft and 12ft box truck, 3 trailers and all the equipment we would need for our 3 major events. We purchased 5 cash registers, tables, chairs, spider boxes and electrical wires to run through our events to power the events. When we were done purchasing all this equipment we were self-sufficient for all our events and did not have to rent anymore equipment.
Supervise Caretakers in the daily operations of the Life Style Program where houses are rented to potential buyers in The Villages. Dispatch employees to departures so they can get the house ready for cleaning. After the cleaning is complete, I then dispatch employees to stage the house for the next tenants.
