Summary

Very caring and compassionate caregiver. I have 30 plus years of experience. My work history includes caring for the elderly, dementia patients and brain injured patients. I also worked approximately a year and a half in a Mental Health facility.

My years of experience have taught me so many things. Two of the most important: patience and understanding.

I believe in treating those in my care with dignity and respect.

I do my very best to make their home feel comfortable and organized. I enjoy decorating for all Holidays and typically purchase all the decorations with my personal funds.

I encourage and assist clients in participating with the decorating.

My strengths are always listening to my clients and meeting all their needs as I am able to. Maintaining strong communication with the care teams. This includes case managers, nurses, guardians, day program staff, physicians and co-workers.

And being their voice and advocating for them when it's necessary.

I encourage and support their independence. I feel very strongly about the importance of including them in decision making and allowing them to be a part of all meetings and appointments, regardless of their level of understanding and communication abilities.

I chose this as my career path because of the pure joy and satisfaction that serving others brings to me.
