I've taken on the role of Safety Functional Lead for my line, making sure my coworkers and I perform our daily tasks in the safest way possible. I'm responsible for completing a daily roster, making sure everybody is accounted for, whether on company property or not. I perform safety walks before every shift, ensuring the line doesn't present any safety risk. My role as a technician has been to troubleshoot the machinery I work on, doing so in a timely manner. Once a month, we do a deep cleaning on machinery, which has allowed me to learn how to take machinery apart and put it back together.
In my role as a PAA Technician, I was responsible for working with the software that distributed the Peracetic Acid and Caustic Soda to the rest of the plant. I would perform titrations to figure out the PPM of dip tanks and spray bars, making sure the PAA levels were safe for employees and me to work around. PAA levels and water levels would fluctuate, so I constantly made adjustments to the software and the ball valves on the water lines. When the pumps that sent the chemical to the plant quit working properly, it was responsible for troubleshooting them and getting them back to their original state before the PAA levels started reducing on the floor. I worked alongside USDA/QA, making sure poultry was being cleaned properly and not building up bacteria.
My role as a Paw Room Stacker was to stand at the end of the production line and bag up the chicken paws as they came down the line. I would then box them up and stack the boxes on pallets. I eventually earned the role of backup team lead on my line, making sure the line didn't suffer any setbacks under my supervision. When other areas, like Evisceration or Live Hang, needed assistance, I would be pulled from the paw room to help out. I learned how to hang live birds and re hang eviscerated birds on the production line.
I worked the graveyard shift, which was responsible for performing the Night Audit task every night. I was also trusted with taking credit card payments and cash deposits during my shift. there was very little traffic at the front desk but i would do check ins/checkouts when necessary. when it was close to time for guest to start getting up for work i was tasked with setting up the continental breakfast as well.
I was brought in as a temp worker to help assemble phone cases on the assembly line. Eventually, I was elevated to the rework assembly line, where precision and attention to detail were prioritized. Finally, I was elevated to wrapping the pallets at the end of the assembly line, where a sense of urgency was prioritized, making sure the lines didn't get backed up.
My role as a landscaper was to mow customers yards and weed eat all in a timely manner. When we had days at the shop I would change out mower blades and sharpen them so they were ready for the next shift.
