Pre-Operative Duties

• Donning OR attire and Personal protective Equipment (PPE)
  Gather, Check and open sterile supplies and Equipment needed for surgical Procedure.
• Performs surgical supplies and equipment
  Set up back table and mayo stand with instrument, supplies, equipment and medication/solutions needed fur procedure
• Perform initial counts "instrument, sharp, sponge " with circulator.
• Assist team with gowning and gloving.
• Participate in surgical time out procedure
• Secure tubing, cords and other sterile accessories

Intra-Op duties

• Anticipate needs of surgeon
• Measure and pass medications, hemostatic agents and irrigating solutions utilized during surgical procedure holds retractors or instruments as directed.
• Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during
  procedure
• Perform additional counts as necessary
• Prepares sterile dressing and IOR immobilization device
• Prepares and passes off specimen(s) as appropriate
• Cleans and prepares instruments tor terminal sterilization
  Assist other team members with terminal cleaning room

• Phlebotomy
• Sorting specimen and samples
• data entry
• handling specimen storage and retrieval.
• Performing routine maintenance on lab equipment
• Adding specimens to testing instruments
• Sanitizing work stations and disposing of biohazardous waste.
• Utilizing PPE as necessary to prevent unnecessary exposure to infectious materials.
• Direct contact with nurses, lab staff on specimen's collect needs (blood tube type)
• Packaging specimens for send out labs.
• Laboratory computer skills
• Ability to multitask in a frequently stressful environment while maintaining a strong customer service standard in dealing with customer and coworkers.
• Perform preanalytical processes
• provide assistance and support to clinical laboratory personnel.
• Enter orders and receive all lab specimens in Laboratory Information System
• Process specimen based on testing requirements
  Accurately prepares send-out requisitions and samples for referral testing
• Processes Lab Corp and Quest specimens from outpatient and draw stations
• Document order errors and integrity of specimens
