music, art

as a musician i spent 30 years working on stage starting in the early punk rock days in houston.  my bands have opened for such luminaries as the big boys from austin, the fall, the mission uk, the waterboys from the u.k., adrian belew and the bears, the smithereens from new jersey.  i have recorded multiple singles, ep's and albums with several bands and toured across the us with 1 band.  during my time in music i also worked behind several bars in houston.  in 27 years in the hospitality business i've worked about every job from busboy/dishwasher to general manager.   during my off hours, when i wasn't practicing music, i tried my hand at art.  my preferred media was pencil/charcoal sketches though i did dabble in wire art/sculptures using found objects and wire.  i still on occasions take a live drawing class when i can attend.
