Dedicated to connecting diners with the food they love from their favorite local restaurants, Grubhub elevates food ordering through innovative restaurant technology, easy-to-use platforms, and an improved delivery experience. Grubhub features more than 300,000 restaurant partners in over 4,000 U.S. locations. locations. locations. cities. Provided nearly $9 billion in gross food sales to local takeout restaurants in 2020. Processes more than 745,000 daily orders. Serves 32 million monthly active diners, sent more than $4 billion in total tips to drivers to date.

  • I was one of the many iOS developers on this project. I was grouped into small teams (2-5 members), and I was assigned to lead a small group of three. After one year, I became the staff engineer of the Search module of the app.
  • Worked and created different internal frameworks, each having one of the teams mentioned above as the owner. The process was straightforward: if you add code to other frameworks, you need approvals from the owners of those frameworks, making the codebase extremely secure and failproof.
  • I added many experiments in the app. An experiment was essentially a new feature requested by the board to test different implications, such as gross gain, time spent, acceptance of the feature, demand in the market, visual updates, and ease of use.
  • Adding analytics for everything in the new features, and even rewriting some to standardize the flow with new demands from the BE and Analytics teams. Added unit tests for each piece of code added; the app had a code coverage of 99% and tested even the API calls and the events sending flows.
  • Participated in bug bashes to speed up the delivery process and help make it flawless. Given suggestions on task implementations, and participated in task creation and estimation.

  • My personal best gain: I perfected my knowledge of working on a framework-based project.
