Paramedic Preceptor Duties
-To mentor and evaluate paramedic interns in the field setting
-240 hours of evaluation
-Work with one student at a time to provide clinical learning experience to enhance student knowledge and facilitate roll transition from an observer to a team member to team leader; and ultimately state certified Paramedic status.

-Use clinical objectives to guide the student through a structured sequence of experiences.
-Provide supervision which is adequate and appropriate to assuring effective and efficient learning.
-Provide the student with feedback and evaluation regarding his/her clinical performance
Mental Health Technician Duties
-Responded to emergency scenes and non-emergency scenes where patients were suffering from an acute psychiatric emergency; i.e. hospitals, patient homes, medical offices, and any and all other possible locations.
-Provide direct patient care, guidance and positive role modeling
-Worked one-on-one with patients to conduct assessments and evaluations of those suffering from an acute psychiatric emergency.
-Worked closely with on call Psychiatrist to determine and complete a treatment plan.
-While demonstrating excellent written communication skills, wrote up "5150" forms and either transported patients to the nearest physiatric hospitals or helped facilitate the transport with the assistance to an ambulance.

-Made a full patient care report detailing the entire call.
Hurricane Katrina Deployment (09/14/2005-10/14/2005)
-Arrived in Baton Rouge and were set up and readily available for deployment on any and all missions needed.
-Assisted with local 911 emergency calls.
-Assisted at the "set up shelters" by administering vaccinations, basic and non-invasive medical needs, some medical monitoring, and positive attitudes to lift spirits.
-Assisted the National Guard with evacuations from local hospitals with the arrival of Hurricane Rita.
-Rode out Hurricane Rita.
Provided more assistance with local 911 emergency calls and transport to outlying cities.
