Supervise the following programs:

• Reflections Care and Treatment: Partnership with Scott County Mental Health that services students 10-18 years of age.
• Transition Program: Serving our 11 member districts and 7 associate member districts in providing transition services for students 18-21 years of age.
• ASD High School Federal setting IV program. Serving students on the spectrum whose focus shifts from academics to transitional type needs such as social skills, employability skills, career exploration, independent living, etc.
• Emotional Behavioral Disorder High School Federal setting IV Program. Serves students experiencing emotional distress such as trauma, anxiety, depression, school avoidance, etc.

All of these programs are most successful when there is a partnership and collaboration with county and healthcare facilities. Most of these families, require continued assistance within their community during and more importantly, following school.

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee all program budgets and purchasing
• Create and provide professional development opportunities for all staff-licensed and paraprofessionals
• Manage all staff, student, and family issues that arise
• Develop program curriculum, standards, scheduling, and behavior strategies.
• Create and implement district-wide initiatives such as due process, professional development, and strategic planning.

• Develop processes and professional development for instructional strategies for staff members
• Develop Sped Google site handbook for staff for all due process questions and resources in special education and 504s
• Manage Special Education staff across 4 buildings: hire, improvement plans, and overall daily supports
• Facilitate contentious meetings with families, administrators, and staff members
• Partner with various departments to develop and streamline processes (Teaching & Learning, EL department, Human Resources, General Education teachers)
• Provide behavioral training to small and large groups of staff members (transportation staff, general education staff, administrators, paraprofessionals, technology staff, etc)
• Monitor state and federal budgets in partnership with Director
• Serve as district representative for students attending South West Metro Intermediate school district.
• Facilitate Emotional Behavioral Programming for grades K-8
• Supervise Early Childhood transitions to elementary schools
• Facilitated articulation groups for Social Emotional Learning E-12, Math 6-12, Reading K-12. Develop curriculum and standards, vertically align those standards, train staff on strategies and continued follow-up for fidelity.

• Coordinated special education students and teacher assistant schedules with master schedule
• Resolved parent, student and co-worker issues that arise for department
• Advocated for special education students and department with building administrators and general education staff
• Led weekly professional development for department and aligned special education curriculum for grades 6-12 with staff during Professional Development Days
• Led department PLC and created sub-PLC groups to increase data, instruction, team building, and professional development

• Coordinated special education services for building
• Built special education teacher and paraprofessional schedules
• Managed department budget and supplies
• Answered due process questions, collaborated, and assisted with conflict resolution for staff
• Developed and provided professional development for all staff around differentiation and disability awareness
