Work History

Teacher

Spencer-Owen Community Schools
08.1992 - Current

I have degrees in English Standard 5-12, General Elementary, and Mild Intervention K-12. I have been a classroom teacher for grades 3-8. I taught high school ELA credit recovery for several summers. I became an RTI Instructional Coach, where I worked with all grade levels, but focused on primary grades and at-risk for dyslexia students. I held that position for three years finishing my Special Ed degree in the meantime. Last year, the RTI position was cut and I became an inclusion teacher for Pre-K to 1st grade. This year I am a Resource + teacher, a combination of resource and self-contained.

I have participated in numerous grant writing and national conference presentations. I was awarded the Make a Difference Award last year.
