I mainly work as a cashier but have recently started working more in the kitchen as often as I can. I try to float back and forth so I can continue to learn all aspects of the job. I like to help out as much as possible by stocking and organizing inventory throughout the store.
I mainly worked on the bounceback floor in this facility. The patients would usually come to the facility after surgery to get stronger to return home. I also worked on the long term floor. I did a lot of stocking in residents rooms with items they would need and organize their rooms and the supply room. I also learned how to chart on a computer at this job rather than doing paper charting.
As a CNA I worked everyday to help care for residents who could not take care of themselves and was also trained in working with Alzheimer's residents. I would help feed, bathe and clothe residents that needed help. I would help with activities in any way that I could and spent time with the residents family members when they would come to visit. I also went on to get trained to be a Care Mentor, which was a head CNA. I would help train new aides that were hired. The Care Mentors were to try to handle any issues on the floor, whether it was the residents or staff members before taking it to upper management. I then took on the scheduling for the CNA's. I would make out schedules for a month at a time for first, second and third shift CNA's for two separate floors of the facility. I also was in charge of getting monthly paperwork ready for the aides, making sure paperwork was organized and doing paperwork for new residents. I would make lists of items that needed to be ordered and put the shipments away when they were delivered to the facility.
