  • -My main duty is to monitor the budgets of Cost Centers through formulation, presentation, and execution
  • - I ensure that obligations incurred and expenditures processed are in accordance with the FOP written as a guideline to help regulate all budget justifications
  • - I compile, consolidate, review, and perform analysis on budget estimates for Cost Centers funded by appropriation with direct and reimbursable funding that may have several external local, state, and International customer accounts
  • - I have a critical role in working to ensure correct accounting processes and procedures using bureau wide financial systems such as FBMS and B+ by:

  • Reviewing and approving budget requests

  • Processing FMBB/COA Uploads

  • Processing Advance Move Collections (ZRHY and ZRML types)

  • - Having Expert knowledge working in the following systems: SAP/FBMS (Financial and Business Management System) and B+ affords me the experience to:

  • I ensure prompt reconciliation of problems and issues within the assigned discipline whether it be Water, Geology, Geography, Ecosystems, Hazards, Climate and Land use, etc

  • I prepare and review many reports from our Bureau site (NAB, Costs Creating Budget, Net Availability Overspent, Exception Report, etc.) which aide in covering the status of funds, obligations, and compliance with object class targets and/or additional planning criteria

  • I monitor authorized funding levels within the bureau accounting system for all accounts and fund types
  • I work with Team Leads to check the proprietary of obligations and expenditures and to correct and revise funding as needed and/or appropriate

  • I process agreements by ensuring that bureau policies are followed with the aid of the FOP and SOP: This involves ensuring that all elements/components of an agreement are in order prior to approval (Authority to enter into agreement, TAS, TIN #, Funding, Billing type, etc.)
  • - I am a focal point for resolution of financial issues for my assigned cost centers in regards to inter division fund transfers, reimbursable billings, financial planning, and bureau wide support service costs that are administered
  • This is accomplished by utilizing many financial systems to input standard vouchers, track expenditures, processes appropriated funds, and monitor funding levels for assigned disciplines which will assist in identifying and reconciling problems
  • - I stay updated and informed on all new funding and policies that come by tracking these accts and ensuring that fund codes, Program Elements, etc

  • - I play an important role in the fiscal year closeout procedures by monitoring each adjusted phase of close out and working closely with team leads and cost centers to resolve problems and issues
  • - I am required to do stat samples monthly for our auditors (KPMG) by pulling requested agreements to ensure that guidelines were followed in accordance to the FOP (Financial Operating Procedures Internal Handbook)
  • - In addition to my daily work, I also participate and/or on the following teams:

  • AR/SD Sig meeting - meet with 5 branches to discuss FBMS updates and/or issues

  • OA/FEVS Panel - analyze the results of The Yearly Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey

  • FBMS Help Desk - Replying to Remedy Tickets from Cost centers with problems/issues while working in FBMS
