Meet department standards when obtaining pre-authorizations from third-party payer requirements and within established timeframes before scheduled appointments and during after care for unscheduled patients. Accurately enters required authorization information in Advent Health systems to include the length of authorization, total number of visits, and/or units of medication. Minimizes duplication of medical records by using problem solving skills to verify patient identity through demographic details. Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits are updated and thorough to support post care financial needs. Adheres to HIPAA regulations by verifying information to determine caller authorization level receiving information on patient account. Thoroughly document all conversations with patients and insurance representatives- including payer decisions, collection attempts, and payment plan arrangements.
Performs eligibility verification, obtains pre-cert, makes financial authorization requests, and receives payment for services. Performs cashiering functions. Works complex accounts and manages escalations from Consumer Access Representatives. Ensures team success in active mentoring and meeting the monthly stated collection and accuracy goals.
