In Collaboration with Safety Officer :

• Monitor Safety Hazards: Identify and assess hazardous situations that could lead to accidents, and report immediately.
• Emergency Management: Coordinate and manage all aspects of an emergency situation.
• Safety Drills: Organize and conduct passenger and crew safety drills, and provide safety instructions with other deck officers.
• Training Programs: Identify and develop relevant training programs for all crew members.
• Firefighting & Lifesaving Equipment: Monitor the condition of firefighting and lifesaving equipment, such as lifeboats, life jackets, fire alarms, and pumps. Report any defects to the Master.
• Maintenance & Inspection: Oversee maintenance, testing, and inspection of emergency equipment, including firefighting systems, in collaboration with the Chief Engineer for the engine room.
• Signals & Identification: Verify that firefighting signals and equipment identification are clear, and ensure proper training of firemen and all personnel in the use of equipment.
• Public Address System: In collaboration with the Electronics Technician, ensure the public address system is functioning and audible throughout the ship.
• Accident Investigation: Investigate all accidents and incidents, and assist in analyzing root causes for near misses.
• Injury Investigation: Investigate and maintain records of major or serious injuries involving passengers and crew.
• Training and Drills: Supervise and coordinate safety training and drills with the Training Officer.
• SMS Documentation: Ensure all Safety Management System (SMS) documentation complies with company procedures.

• Weekly Bridge Watch: Perform a navigational watch on the bridge each week.
• Muster List Updates: Help update and organize the Muster List, especially when the Safety Officer is absent.
• Safety Training: Provide safety training for all crew members, ensuring it meets company and legal requirements. Address any knowledge gaps and report if not corrected.
• Drill Scenarios: Work with the Safety Officer to create and run different, personalized safety drills based on crew needs.
• Firefighting & Lifesaving Equipment: Assist with the maintenance of firefighting and lifesaving equipment as per regulations.
• Firefighting Organization: Help ensure that all firefighting signals and equipment are clear and in good condition. Train crew on proper use.
• Emergency Response Leader: Serve as the second-in-command during emergencies, helping coordinate responses.
• Ship Maneuvers: Participate in maneuvers as directed by the Master.

• Responsible for the operation of the vessel and organizing tours for guests, including points of interest, restaurants, and boarding and disembarking times, local guiding, and navigation safety in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

• Ensure Deck Officer Presence: Work with the Safety Officer to make sure a suitable Deck Officer is always on board.
• Watchkeeping Responsibilities: Ensure the safety of the ship, navigation, and environmental protection during watchkeeping. Follow prescribed navigational procedures.
• Radio Watch: Maintain a continuous radio watch on the appropriate frequencies during your watch.
• Supervision of Watchkeeping Officers: Manage and supervise the watchkeeping officers and other Bridge Manager duties.
• GMDSS Equipment Checks: Ensure the Junior Deck Officer performs GMDSS radio tests and logs them properly.
• Ship’s Email: Check and dispatch emails at the end of your duty.
• Cadet Training: Oversee cadet training during navigational watch.
• Specific Duties:Perform daily stability calculations.
  Take monthly soundings of tanks, cofferdams, and void spaces.
  Maintain tanks, cofferdams, and void spaces.
  Work with the Master to improve work safety on board
  

• Deck Officer Presence: Ensure a suitable Deck Officer is always on board, in coordination with the Safety Officer.
• Watchkeeping Responsibilities: Ensure the safety of the ship, navigation, and environmental protection during watchkeeping, and maintain continuous radio watch.
• Voyage Planning: Prepare and get approval from the Master for voyage plans and alternatives. Advise the Master about unrealistic speeds or arrival times.
• Navigation Instruments: Monitor the condition of all navigation instruments in collaboration with other watchkeepers.
• Manage Publications & Charts: Handle hard copy and digital publications and electronic charts as required.
• Shore Communication: Stay in touch with agents and shore parties to notify arrivals and departures according to the ship’s itinerary.
• Ship’s Email: Check and send emails at the end of your duty.
• Reports: Prepare the nautical section of Sailing, Noon, and Arrival reports and submit them.
• Cadet Training: Oversee cadet training during your navigational watch.
