Job duties involve, taking pass down from previous shift, placing next shift personnel on jobs not done, and others on new one. Answering calls over radio to assist and help production with any tooling issues they may have during die casting process. Other job duties include:
Simple machining of various materials to blueprints or making new parts off of old one.
Repairing dies, from switching out components to new ones or repairing damaged or making new ones to blueprint. Using manual lathe, mills, and surface grinders. Using precision measurement tools, to check against blueprint.
Repairing die water systems making custom iron pipes or steel braided water lines.
Repairing pulled pieces on dies by TIG welding dies and cutting back either by hand using die grinders or turbo lappers. or using mills and boring mill or lathe to reach desired specifications.
Cleaning of dies surfaces, removing spray build up and solder. Using various techniques that do not damage the surface.
Making sure paperwork is properly filled out and signed off.
Inspecting work to make sure dies are completed before going into production
Maintaining production CNCs, and Drill fixtures.
Contacting engineers, supervisor and managers of important issues that occur. And involving them in problem solving of said issues, along with informing them of why things have broken.

Molding Set-up

Setting of molds in injection press of various sizes and different type of parts, using 10-ton overhead bridge crane, and properly torqueing mold into press. Once set, mold must be hooked to the press cooling water and hydraulics if required. Process setting of press then must be adjusted such as water temperatures, injection pressures, fill speed, injection barrel heats, and press timers. Once part is processed to the required specification, Molding Set-up must set up operator station, setting air conveyors, de-gators, case sealers, and making sure proper labels have been print and ready for use. Molding Set-up are required to pull finished product pallets and bins form molding production floor, scanning them into Warehouse management system and placing them in 48 hour hold area. Set-ups run production of pelletizer running extruders making finished pellets for molding machines and customers, along with preforming schedule ash analyst test. Other testing Molding Set-ups preform include 100% Xray inspection of parts for voids in material, crush testing ensuring the nit line of parts do not spit. Molding Set-up start up and run production of Fire-resistant micro tubing line. Insuring that vacuum tank, extruder/ melt pump heats, slave puller, ink jet printer, and sonic scanner are all at proper settings so that tube wall thickness, OD, and ID are all with in spec. Molding Set-ups are also to know and preform the task of operators from time to time and fill in when need be. Molding Set-ups fill in and take place of Quality Control personnel in their absence collecting sample parts throughout the shift measuring them with various measuring instruments such as caliper, OD mics, wall mics, PI tapes, and various sizes types of dyer gauges. Documenting measurements making sure parts are with in specification before turning into Quality Auditors department for approval and release for shipping. I am also trained and certified through performance pipe to operate sit down and stand up for lifts, I do so on a daily bases.

Water Jet Room Coordinator: Work under limited supervision of supervisor and department lead and filling daily needs as instructed by supervisor and department lead, while accurately giving updates and notifying supervisor of any major problems and taking charge of and fixing minor problems and issues. Assigning daily tasks to crew members and making sure they were completed in timely manner. Finalizing all paper work at end of day and making sure numbers of incoming, outgoing, and scrap add up correctly. Finishing end of shift paper work noting daily totals, and any problems, that were fix or still outstanding.
