- I took a position with VisionWorks to step back from the retail sector.
- As lab manager, my tasks include, but are not limited to, reviewing incoming job orders for issues, processing any in-house lab orders including full surface processes.
- Responsibilities include proper procedures to account for damages, along with setting up a working system to increase job productivity, inventory reconciliation and supplies ordering, completing repairs and adjustments for the opticians.

- Over my 16 years with Costco, I had the pleasure of starting as a Licensed Optician and moving into Department Manager.
- During my 10 years as Manager, I managed separately three of the now five locations in the Nashville Market.
- I was able to take each location from short staffed and struggling to thriving successful locations.
- The day to day duties included prescription interpretation, precise measurements, accurate data entry, insurance verification, filing insurance, claims reconciliation, and final inspection of products for proper delivery.
- Extended responsibilities, as a manager, included scheduling, inventory controls, ordering and receiving of product from outside labs and vendors.
- I reviewed profit and loss statements for errors, completed employee evaluations, and managed cash handling procedures.
- Some of the key links to my success was my team building skills and nurturing lasting relationships with patients, who follow me from locations to locations.
- As with any patient/customer capacity, respect and kindness will strengthen the bonds of loyalty.
