- Performing routine safety inspections on my sanitation vehicle before starting my day.
- My job consists of operating a residential side loader, picking up over 800 cans a day, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste from residential homes.
- We have disabled tubouts that consist of us going onto the resident's property to retrieve their cans and bring them to the curbside to dump them and return them to their home.
- I've developed excellent customer service skills while interacting with residential customers.
- I have great communication skills with our management team.
- I've had the opportunity to be the acting supervisor while doing this job I had to print out maps and disabled tubouts list to our pool driver and assist them on how to run the routes. I have to make sure that all the routes are accounted for, and check on the pool drivers to ensure they are completing the routes properly. I've also had very little experience with the Kronos and Mars systems.

- As a Sanitation Technician this job requires us to operate a rear end loader picking up furniture and debris all over the city.
- In the morning the supervisor gives you a list of addresses with descriptions of items that need to be picked up on a daily basis.
- As a technician we were also asked to operate a claw truck picking up items there were too massive for the special collections truck to pick up.
- We also would go to apartment complexes all over the city picking up there furniture and debris out of there corrals.
- Another part of the brush division was the child's park crew picking up debris with a small tractor and rear end loader in that area and sometimes traveling to different parts of the city picking up large piles of debris and furniture.
- Another part of this job was to operate a large caterpillar loader going around to all 5 of the brush sites pushing up piles and loading the trucks with brush and logs, and occasionally I would work down south at the compost loading contractor trucks with mulch and pushing up the brush down there.
- While I was a technician the supervisor would have me train new drivers on the rear end loader, claw truck, tractor trailer and the small and larger loaders.
