I have learned from personal experience how the restaurant business works because I have grown up in it. My family has owned three Mexican restaurants across the Bay Area for my entire 22 years of life. Not only have I grown up in the business, but I have always helped my family in their business for as long as I can remember. Starting with it being a summer job for me, I have always studied in Mexico and would come to the States every time I had a vacation.
I got into door-to-door sales in San Diego. To sharpen my sales skills. I was of great use to my team, being bilingual. More customers could be spoken to with me knowing Spanish fluently. I knew I didn't want to be doing door-to-door forever. It wasn't for me personally, but I have gained immense knowledge and experience from knocking on strangers' doors, persuading them to switch utilities for their financial gain.
The experience I gained while working at my aunt's company to get into sales:
I managed her company's Instagram, creating and receiving leads from the platform, building potential clients, and then proceeding to select which salesman on the floor can close the deal with assessment, depending on the situation of each particular case. The experience i have gained from such position is listed in points above, as well :)
