Summary

"Technical structural engineer specializing in aeronautical structures with over 13 years of experience."

"My early experiences were at the Aeronautical and Space Museum in Chile. Pre-intership where I primarily worked on structural and decorative tasks, learning a lot about tools and various aircraft.

"After finishing school, I began my professional internship in the paint shop, where I was able to participate in many chemical treatment processes on parts according to structural requirements. I also applied various processes outlined in manuals, which led me to understand the necessary work methods that must be applied when working on airplanes."

'Later, my career progressed at LATAM airline as a structure technical, where for 11 years I undertook various tasks across different areas of the aircraft, from corrosion removal to major skin changes. Here, major maintenance works were conducted over long periods. The process began with inspections by trained technicians to identify faults and anomalies, which we then reported in order to solve the problem according to the quality standards required for aeronautical work, either following engineering orders or the Maintenance Manual's instructions."

"In the last two years, I worked for ST Engineering as a structure technical, where we conducted aircraft passenger-to-freighter conversion tasks. These involved various part replacements according to engineering orders, specific work tasks, maintenance manuals, and a modification program implemented across multiple locations worldwide."

Work History

Aircraft Maintenance Technician

St Engineering Aerospace
2022.03 - 2024.03

Conversion of AIRBUS 330 (P2F) aircraft from passenger to freighter, this work is divided by different maintenance check and each one of them has different processes, the first check has the character of preparing the aircraft for its final position where all the works will be performed, Specific works are performed as for example different external patches in the fuselage mostly in front doors areas, also skin changes in crow skin area, frame replacement in jack points area in different sections along the aircraft for its later climb, the croos bean of all these points are replaced allowing to have the aircraft to a zero stress position.

the second check starts once the airplane is in position, here is where all the frames start to be replaced by different work tasks, we work in middle zones of the frames in lower zones and when these are replaced in both RH and LH side it is time to replace the croos bean giving the correct positions according to the necessary measures, on the other hand we are working on reinforcement areas in the fuselage where the new door will be installed, all with specific works mandated by the modification program, here we can also see the cut that the plane must have for the installation of the door, these works are all related to each other, after working on several planes you can understand in a better way the process and the reason of each work. All the works are done under maintenance drawings, engineering orders, specific tasks, maintenance manuals. In addition we can find different brackets installation works where new hydraulic lines, pneumatic lines, ventilation ducts and electrical cables will pass through the whole airplane.

Aircraft Structure Technician

LATAM Airlines
2011.11 - 2022.02

Structure Worker with experience in B767-300, B767-300F, A320FAM aircraft

Performing major works such as replacement of floor beams in seat track and cargo track under maintenance manual orders, removal of critical corrosions, skin changes due to major damage, replacement of components due to cracks, fabrication of parts or modifications delivered in engineering orders or airworthiness directives.

For A320FAM aircraft, we worked on the modification of beams under the LOPA project, in which beams are replaced to provide more access to new seats or galleys.

Replacement of aeronautical rivets, analysis of structural damages under different inspections delivered by manual or according to maintenance programs, creating reports with damages for later repair. Experience in working with Maintenix systems, using basic tools for an aeronautical specialist.

Perform structural inspections, create and resolve discrepancies, evaluate and perform major repairs according to SRM, A.D, S.B, and E.I, precision drilling, riveting of solid rivets, blind rivets, and Hilok, skin reworks, replacement and modifications of structural members, and jobs in the fuel tank.

Experience in cargo doors includes routine or scheduled inspections, replacement of depressor seals for common damages in cut-out areas.

Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repair or replacement.

Aircraft Structure Technician

LATAM Airlines
2010.02 - 2011.10

Internship, Surface treatment section, use of technical documentation for the chemical application process, as
depainting in areas of repair or analysis, application of alodine treatments, application of protective
paint for subsequent application of decorative paint.

Aircraft Maintenance Technician

National Aeronautics and Space Museum
2008.04 - 2009.08

Pre-internship, Different paint application tasks were performed here, including primer applications and painting specific areas using pneumatic tools, paint removal work.
