● Demonstrate and instruct trainees on the collection of blood specimens by established venipuncture and capillary techniques.

● Develop, conduct, monitor and document new staff training, and staff in-services related to phlebotomy.

● Enforced infection control and sharps disposal procedures to protect patients, coworkers and self.

● Identified patients using proper procedures prior to specimen collection.

● Disposed of used needles in sharps containers to avoid accidental needlesticks.

● Sanitized work area after every patient to prevent contamination and spread of disease.
