Registered Nurse

• Practice in a 22 bed ICU with a variety of neurological conditions including: ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries, anoxic brain injuries, and diseases of the brain and spinal cord.
• Collaborated with intensivists and aided to provide advanced care to patients in high pressure environments such as rapid sequence intubations, bedside external ventricular drain placements, and lumbar punctures.
• Monitor hemodynamics during procedures, perform time outs, administer critical medications safely, and communicate clearly and efficiently with interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor neurological and hemodynamic stability in post-surgical patients, including those undergoing craniotomy, decompressive hemicraniectomy, thrombectomy, laminectomies, and tumor resection.
• Experienced in managing devices such as CRRT, EVD’s, lumbar drains and invasive lines.
• Recognize and escalate neurological changes promptly, ensuring rapid interventions to prevent complications.

Relief Charge Nurse

• Support and oversee unit operations such as admissions and discharges, creating safe patient assignments, and supporting nursing staff to promote a positive work environment.
• Act as a liaison between physicians, APP’s, nurses, admissions, and staffing to ensure closed loop communication.

Preceptor

• Fostered a safe educational environment for 20+ nurses- both new graduate nurses (14-16 week orientation) as well as experienced nurses (4-6 week orientation).
• Optimized learning experiences that allow preceptees to perform competently in their required responsibilities through mentoring and modeling excellent patient care.

• Raised over $765,000 for Children’s Hospital of Georgia per fiscal year
• Developed and stewarded a portfolio of more than 120 corporate partnerships
• Developed an Ambassador Family program and established relationships with our patient families
• Facilitated opportunities for patient families to share their stories with local philanthropic constituents
