I am Grace Costner and I am a student at Santa Barbara High school. I am apart of the MAD academy (Media Arts and Design). In MAD I get to show my artistic skills and use my social skills to thrive in class. With my strong work ethic and exceptional communication skills, I've enriched lives at Surf Happens by teaching visually impaired individuals to surf, demonstrating patience and empathy. My babysitting roles for family and friends further showcase my reliability and ability to create a safe, engaging environment, emphasizing my dedication to helping others.
I have had a lot of experience with babysitting before. I have worked a lot with babysitting my family and family friends. When I babysit I ensure to communicate with guardians and the children to make sure I know about allergies, bedtimes, etc to keep them safe and on a good schedule. When I work with kids I like to have a lot of activities for them like art, face paint, bored games, and tv shows if the parents are okay with them.
At surf happens I worked with visually impaired people and taught them how to surf. Ages varied from as young as 6 year olds to people in there 70s. Before any of the action started I helped get there wetsuits on and get to know them as well as how bad there vision was. I helped them learn to paddle and get up working around there disability.
