Summary

My hope after I graduate with my degree in Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the Fairbanks School of Public Health in May of 24' is to find a career opportunity where I can make a real difference in the community by being a dedicated, supportive, critical-thinking peer member. With the skills and knowledge that I have attained as well as my determination, passion, and proven work ethic, I have the foundation needed to be an integral part of any open-minded and diverse team. I am a highly motivated employee with a desire to take on new challenges. I tackle challenges with positivity and the drive to overcome them. Works great alone or with others and consistently exceeds expectations through being detail-oriented and able to learn new concepts quickly.

  • I help out with collecting research, completing inventory, outreach programs & events, and side projects for the program
  • I also helped to develop a disaster plan for the office in case of an emergency.

  • As a member of the study team, under the direction of Dr
  • Tess Weathers, my duties included: Updating the current photos as well as taking new photos of different buildings, as well as historic businesses, landmarks, restaurants and parks located in the near Southside Community
  • Assisted individuals in filling out applications or questionnaires.
  • Asked questions in accordance with instructions to obtain the person's name, address, and age.
  • Used computers or specified forms to compile, record, and code results or data from an interview or survey.
  • I reviewed the data obtained from the interview for completeness and accuracy.
  • Explained survey objectives and procedures to interviewees, interpreting survey questions to help with comprehension.
  • I checked contact information from research subjects for accuracy.
  • Conducted structured interviews and recorded audio.
  • I performed interviews with residents that live in the near Southside of Indianapolis, served by Concord Neighborhood Center
  • During these interviews; I would show photos, ask several specific questions, record their responses and answer their questions
  • I would send the completed interview information to the research team. The research team would then work with this information to help identify the priorities of these residents and improve the overall health and wellbeing of those that reside in the vicinity of Southside.
  • Greeted candidates upon arrival and provided an overview of the interview process.
  • Recorded detailed notes of each interview.
