  • Company Overview: Medicine in Kenya Study Abroad
  • Worked side by side U.S. and Kenyan providers, along with the Taveta District Health Office, to treat patients in medical clinics in the impoverished villages of Kasigau.
  • Goal was to help increase health promotion and disease prevention through sustainable, community-based work.
  • Spent time in two different hospitals in Nairobi - the largest urban area and capital of the country.
  • Gained substantive international medical experience, along with an appreciation and understanding of Kenyan culture and epidemiological challenges facing an industrialized low and middle-income country.
  • Focused on Kenyan culture, history, geography, health care, and the epidemiology of prevalent diseases as well as practical training in medical assessment.
