I was part of the nursing program at Quincy High School, where I had the opportunity to participate in clinical placements at Hancock Park Rehabilitation Center throughout both my junior and senior years. These immersive, hands-on experiences were truly transformative, allowing me to step beyond the classroom and witness the daily rhythm of patient care within a real healthcare environment. Working alongside nurses, CNAs, and other staff helped me understand not only the technical responsibilities involved in caregiving but also the emotional and human aspects that shape each interaction. Over the past four years, I have developed essential skills in communication, empathy, and critical thinking-skills that are foundational to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. From learning how to comfort patients during vulnerable moments to understanding how small details can significantly impact someone's well-being, these experiences strengthened my commitment to the nursing field. At the end of my senior year, in May 2025, I proudly earned my CNA certification, solidifying both my training and my passion for continuing in healthcare.
