I continue to retain my license and participate in psychotherapy pursuits.

In order to retain licensure, since 1995 I have been involved with continuing education of 40 hours every two years, which included 3 hours of ethics and 6 hours of diagnosis: 23 years of licensure renewal requirements met with courses approved by the NBCC and the APA.

  • As a Counselor in the schools, I worked with students experiencing suicidal ideation, eating disorders, divorce, poor study habits, separation anxiety, school phobias, bullying, abuse etc I started a district wide anti-bullying program which brought experts into the school to promote prevention by creating climate change I provided extensive counseling and responsive services as well as conducted educational support groups and assisted in determining appropriate community services I consulted in Special Education team meeting and helped reform the think tank for interventions by district specialists Parent-community public relations was an integral part of the program's success I taught classes to parents and district staff on building relationships with students through Love & Logic I brought in specialists with EEOC to address gender inequity and provide interventions Building healthy relationships among peers through combined efforts with MOCSA--Metropolitan Organization to Counteract Sexual Assault and the Stop Violence Coalition of Kansas City
