• In my student teaching experience, I was able to possess several classroom management techniques. One strategy that I found to be effective was providing a rain stick in my classroom. For example, when I needed to gain student attention I would flip the rain stick, and it would begin to make a calming rain noise. If I flipped it twice students knew they needed to refocus their attention on the teacher. After three turns of the rain stick, students were expected to be quiet and ready to learn. This classroom management technique was very successful because it provided a calming noise while ensuring that students knew that it was time to turn their attention to the teacher and quiet down.
