I'm a 23 year old college student who has had a broad experience of work so far. I've been open and able to learn many different tasks and procedures and work skills.
At the Courtyard by Marriott, as a front desk agent, it was my responsibility to ensure guests feel comfortable and safe at all times. My main responsibility was to check guests in and out of the hotel. I also was responsible for restocking the market we have and making sure everything is up to date. I would also answer phone calls in a timely manner and handle any issues we would have regarding the front desk.
At Delaware North, I was a concession stand attendant for the 2024 Padres season! I was in charge of making the popcorn at my stand and keeping it fresh and full. I also stepped in and helped out to serve guests when needed. I would also be sent down to the warehouse to grab whatever supplies we would need. Before and after every game, our stand as a whole, would be responsible for cleaning and prepping our stand for the next day.
This is a seasonal job. I was able to ride around with the UPS driver I was assigned to for the day and help them deliver their packages during the holidays. It was a fast pace job but lots of fun. You deliver to different routes depending on your driver.
As a ramp agent, you upload and offload luggage, and service water. You make sure that the bags get to the carousels in a timely manner. You make sure that the bags also get onto the plane in a timely manner as well. It’s a physically active job. Mentally & physically. You also communicate with the pilots every now and then. From time to time I also marshalled the pilots in once they landed.
I worked in the Home section. I made sure my area is zoned and it’s’ appearance is pleasing and clean. I stocked the shelves and made sure our guests needs and wants are put first. I also made sure to assist any guests with any questions they may have had or guidance they may have needed around the store.
As a Recreation Attendant I planned and executed activities for children in groups of 12 (in a program serving more than one hundred children). My essential duties are to assist students by organizing and finding appropriate activities within a positive and encouraging environment, maintaining program equipment and work areas, promoting appropriate student behavior and good habits, and responding to inquiries to resolve issues and transferring children directly from or to parents or guardian. I have maintained a good relationship with the children, my co-workers, and the parents.
