The President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is a national recognition awarded to those who complete a significant amount of verified community service in a twelve-month period. Personally, I was awarded the PVSA two years consecutively before it was discontinued, both in the silver tier, meaning I completed a minimum of 175 verified community service hours in one year. In order to acquire said community service hours, I mentored newly appointed staff members in my community service organization, prepared food for various occasions in food banks and centers, organized monthly meetings, and cooperated accordingly with higher ups of an international nonprofit foundation. In the process of gaining this award, I learned how to properly delegate time so to ensure the required community service hours were met, as well as leadership and communication so to ensure professionalism in meetings organized by me. By gaining this award, I also spread the impact of helping multiple families by providing aid in various ways.
