I attend Lampasas High School and will be a junior this school year. I am a long time honors student and I am currently ranked 3rd in my class academically. AP English III is an essential part of my honors curriculum and I believe that it can further my language skills and abilities.   • I co-manage the band, overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • I ensure the proper hydration of my fellow band students by maintaining the water level in our portable tank.
  • I co-ordinate with the rest of leadership to plan various morale-boosting events, such as theme days or leadership parties.
  • I have helped and continue to help mitigate disagreements through collective grievance sharing and occasional restructuring.
  • I push the leadership to be as collaborative as possible.

Additive Manufacturing Design and Production Tech

  • I design parts critical to the functions of model rockets, such as passive control surfaces and propulsion block retainer systems.
  • I design various toys and trend-following products to support the maintenance and filament costs of running additive manufacturing machines.
  • I produce these items on my series of advanced, high-speed, FDM machines.
  • I troubleshoot and repair malfunctions as soon as possible to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • I have made well over $1000 running this operation.
  • The rocket parts I have produced with additive manufacturing have an extremely low failure rate; the only failures are from unrelated issues with other parts of the rocket design and flight.

Audio Visual Transmission Technician

  • Responsible for the successful live streaming of the First Street Church of Christ's Sunday morning services.
  • I constantly monitor the camera angle and microphone volumes during the stream to ensure all messages are getting across and all songs are well balanced.
  • I report any in-stream malfunctions to my boss so that minimal downtime occurs.
  • I work with the other people in the AV booth to keep both the stream and projected slides running correctly.
  • I report immediately if I am to be gone so that a replacement can be found.
  • I am responsible for over 100 successful streams.

  • Team leadership - I've enjoyed opportunities to lead various groups, such as the UIL Computer Science team and a four-person band that plays at various events An example of my leadership skills is when I attended NASA camp In this camp, I led a four-person team in a multi-faceted competition that included various challenges ranging from autonomous robotics to multi-staged rockets I successfully directed the team to multiple successes, ultimately leading us to 2nd place finish in the competition
  • Prioritization - I have a good ability to prioritize what is important regarding something coming up or my future in general An example of this was my schedule for this school year I have eagerly waited to take jazz band for a year now, but unfortunately my schedule wouldn't allow it I had to make the difficult choice between jazz, a hobby of mine, and Honors PreCal, a class that will positively impact my future if I don't take it While it was a difficult decision that I wouldn't be able to do jazz, I prioritized my future in aerospace engineering over my hobbies
  • Complex Problem-solving - I have a passion in building rockets As you build and test rockets many things can and will go wrong I have developed solid problem solving skills by continuing to build and test these rockets I test new ideas, and evaluate and troubleshoot any concerns with each launch When my 5-foot-tall rocket, Checkmate II, impacted the ground at 60 miles per hour after a failed parachute deployment, I took what was left and I studied it I eventually found the problem, fixed it, rebuilt the rocket, and launched it again
  • Interpersonal Skills - I am confident in my ability to work well and get along with the majority of people An example of this is when I went to a music camp this summer I didn't know any of the attendees, but I was still able to play along with them well and had fun with them
