






Grant Slater is a producer, entrepreneur, and executive with a proven track record in the sports and entertainment industries. He is known for operating at the intersection of sports, media, and storytelling, developing and delivering high-level film projects that resonate with global audiences. Slater has produced and managed multiple multi-million dollar film projects under his Slater Brothers Entertainment label.
His work has been recognized in Forbes, USA Today, Sportsnet.ca, Deadline, Screen, Variety and other high profile sport and entertainment media outlets.
His recent film productions include the multi-million dollar hockey dramatic feature, Odd Man Rush (2020 Roku, Hulu, Tubi, Amazon Prime), Don't Turn Out the Lights (2024 #2 Hulu, Tubi, Amazon Prime, iTunes) and The Other Side of Edinburgh (2025 9.1/10 IMBD, JustWatch UK Top 100).
It is no coincidence that many of SBE's productions have a sports backdrop. Grant has always had a passion for sport. After competing in the NCAA DI Men's Ice Hockey Championship game and playing professionally in Europe, his early career included coaching ice hockey at the Junior and NCAA DI levels, representing athletes and producing some of the largest and most prestigious amateur sporting events in North America.
He got his start in the sports and entertainment industry working for the legendary sports entrepreneur Dennis Murphy (Founder of the World Hockey Association, American Basketball Association) consulting on a variety sports ventures and producing sports related events.
In addition to his film production work, Grant currently serves as the Executive Director of the Hamilton (New York) International Film Festival, where he has helped it grow from a weekend event to a seven day festival that is attracting filmmakers and business leaders from across the globe.
The Festival is regularly named a "Top 100 Best Reviewed Festival" by Filmfreeway the World's Leading Film Submission Platform, representing over 12,000 festivals around the World.
Grant graduated from Colgate University and holds a Master of Education degree from Lesley University's Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, with a Specialization in International Sports Management and Coaching Strategies. He has dual USA/Canadian citizenship.
