Serve as a senior analyst in the Office of Public Service Operations Support (OPSOS), with responsibility for planning, coordinating and conducting broad studies and analyses relating to SSA’s work processing activities, operational goals and objectives and legislative planning/implementation activities.

Provide a variety of high level coordinative, analytical and advisory services to DCO/OPSOS management related to national and SSA-wide complex program initiatives, which can be of a confidential and sensitive nature. Represent and act for OPSOS management at meetings and/or conference calls to ensure accomplishment of goals and objectives.

Plans and directs implementation of legislation and coordinates DCO legislative implementation efforts; ensures that operating instructions to support the implementation are prepared.

  • Plans and directs studies and complex assignments designed to analyze, monitor and improve effectiveness of operations. Ensures that decision papers are prepared and/or briefings are conducted which include recommendations for consideration by the Associate Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.
  • Plans for changes in new or revised program and operating procedures and work processes. Reviews proposals regarding changes and/or modifications and assesses impact on workloads/workflow, productivity/accuracy, position structure/control.
  • Assists management in evaluating program work processes and procedures, and identifying improvements. The incumbent develops methods to evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency, analyzes data and prepares reports, with recommendations for improvements to management.
  • Analyzes new or revised policies, procedures, and systems initiatives to determine impact/effect on DCO policies and resources and prepares DCO comments.
  • Ensures that policy and procedural modifications are implemented and coordinates DCO activities with other SSA components.
  • Serves as an advisor providing confidential advice and guidance to the OPSOS Associate Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Regional Commissioners and Associate Commissioner, OCO regarding a variety of operational and work processing activities, which may be sensitive in nature.
