US Bronze and Lubrite Technologies work together to manufacture bushings and self-lubricated bearings and assemblies ranging in size from one inch to over twenty feet. These products are well-established worldwide and are supplied to mass transit, nuclear and hydro power plants, bridges and building construction companies, and mining, oil and gas as well as many other industries.
As Shop Floor Manager/Machinist, I fully utilize my 31 years of experience running manual/CNC VTLs, 3-4 axis mills, lathes of which 25 years have been in a supervisory and management capacity. My duties and responsibilities include overseeing operations, such as job routing to ensure quality products are delivered to our customers to meet their demands and timelines; working with outside vendors to reduce operating costs; ordering materials and daily consumables; and supervision of employees, including hiring, training, discipline, and termination. On any given day, I apply my skills listed below to machining, programming, welding, maintaining and tearing down parts, working with engineers doing R&D on new bearings and reverse engineering sample parts. I have designed many of the processes and constantly work on improvements for those procedures. I am relied upon to make quick decisions in this fast-paced environment. As a member of the safety committee, I make sure all employees are working with a safety-first attitude.
