After discussion in our Global Business Class, as a high school senior regarding transportation and logistics, we discussed the different methods of transportation and one was rail. This interested me because of how much freight/goods of all sizes are capable of being transported by rail, which further intrigued me to research during my personal time how all those trains can be managed between County and State lines all while avoiding accidents and confusion. My research ended up focusing on Train crews and dispatchers and the technology used. I then incorporated to my long-time hobby of tracking trains all while behind a computer screen and with a radio scanner beside me. I foresee myself being a dispatcher for a Railroad would be a great fit for my career.
