Responsibilities

Take off rolls of printed film from press and place them on a pallet for shipping with labels and straps. Measure and cut cores for the rolls and place them on the shaft. Replace the shaft and measure accurately the placement of the cores. Remove all scrap film and record the weight of scrap. Clean any ink off printing labels and remove them to separate department.

Accomplishments

I was working through Randstad employment agency and worked at this factory for two months when I was turned down for the job. During that time I was working at least one press but sometimes two presses. We had a change of shift time from 8 to 12 hour periods while some people were reassigned to different positions. I had been assigned to another press but the press operator I was currently working with was so impressed with my work he insisted to the company that I remain his assistant. After that time I trained an assistant for me until I was let go.

Skills Used

I had to work in a fast paced environment with machinery. Precise measurement had to me made both on and off the press. Using cutting machine for cores. A hydraulic lifting arm was available for our use. Preparing pallets for shipping with correct labeling. Moving pallets with pallet jack. Basic mathmatic calculations.
