  • Company Overview: Lost Dunes is a private golf club located near the shoreline of Lake Michigan with both local and national membership. Previously a sand quarry, architect Tom Doak designed the golf course which opened for play in 1999
  • As Golf Course Superintendent, I oversee our core strategies and values, capital improvement roadmap, and maintenance operations
  • Key Results: Facility has recently climbed the Golf Digest “Best in State” rankings to #5 in Michigan. Membership has grown to capacity and currently has a waiting list to join
  • Maintenance: Strategy reflects the desire and ability to achieve tournament conditioning on a daily basis, with the main goal to produce a firm and fast surface throughout
  • Projects/Capital Improvements: Several new tees have been built to increase playability amongst a diverse golfer skillset, as well as to lengthen the golf course. A complete bunker renovation was performed "in-house" without the aid of outside contractors (2022). Irrigation upgrades are completed on a regular basis
  • Budgetary Management: Have remained within operational and capital budget parameters with each fiscal year. Responsible for managing yearly expenditures of over two million dollars
  • Safety and Risk Management: Strict protocols have been implemented to ensure safety and limit liability within property boundaries. This includes extensive training and preventative measures pertaining to chemical applications, equipment management. Perform ongoing inspections/repairs to property and physical structures
  • Personnel management: Optimize staff productivity by creating efficient work schedules and delegating tasks according to skillsets. Evaluate employee performance regularly, providing constructive feedback for improvement, whilst strongly encouraging a team environment.
  • Manage purchasing of all supplies and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with equipment
