Provision of direct care and individualized nursing care to patients in the Emergency departments.

Duties include (but are not limited) to the following:

• Assessment and documentation of symptoms, collection of detailed patient history; then subsequently relaying findings to other members of the healthcare team, consulting with them, and teaming up with other healthcare members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Performing patient triage on arrival to the emergency department.
• Management of basic life support needs and stabilization of patients based upon nursing standards and protocol prior to attending physician being available to see them.
• Perform EKG, telemetry monitoring, lV insertion, site care, blood draws, and other duties as assigned.
• Work directly with physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
• Recording of all patient cares information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in an appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.

• Manage daily operations of the nursing units, ensuring adequate staffing levels and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
• Assessing patient care requirements on each unit by making rounds in person throughout the departments and all other areas of hospital.
• Complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff.
• Anticipate potential problems that may occur on shift and set shift priorities accordingly.
• Improve patient flow processes to reduce wait times while maintaining high-quality care standards across the unit.
• Develop strong interdisciplinary relationships to improve communication between departments and optimize patient care outcomes.

• Developing plans for student care based on assessment, interventions, identification of outcomes, and evaluation of care.
• Providing health-related education to students and staff in both individual and group settings.
• Overseeing medication administration, health care procedures, and development of healthcare plans.
• Making decisions related to delegation of healthcare tasks as directed by state laws and professional practice guidance.
• Providing health advice to school educational teams, such as Committee on Special Education and Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) team.
