Hi, my name is Greyland T. Miller. I'm 31 year old Oregonian. My career has taken me from aircraft maintenance, to software development, and landed me in Portland State University studying electrical engineering. I can fix or create just about anything. Whether it's a software based business tool, or a hardware based embedded project. I love a good challenge and feel everyday is good for learning. Right now I'm looking for a company, team, or organization that values a diverse skill set and is in need of someone with my experience in maintenance, software and electronics.
(Django Rest Framework / React-TypeScript) - The platform we made here is one that automates marketing for real estate agents by scheduling blogs, emails and social media posts throughout the month and posting them automatically. It also integrates with the companies existing tools and syncs data between services. I helped design the system architecture and had a hand in many of the tools the company features.
I worked as a freelance web developer for a while, building and maintaining websites for clients of various sizes. I worked with a number of different libraries and frameworks as well, including React.js, Node.js, MongoDb, Postgres, and Next.js. I built a number of online shops for customers. Most of the websites are still up today and can be seen on my old portfolio website.
(Microsoft VBA / Python scripts) - As an in-shop software developer, I would mostly write small scripts that could ease every day life at work. The most notable project was a spreadsheet that was connected to a sql database, which could compare parts needed to parts owned, to determine what parts we need to order. This allowed parts to be ordered earlier, and shortened the length of time needed to complete an overhaul.
I started at Columbia as an aircraft mechanic who was interested in software. I had no access to python or js or anything else on my work computer, but I had Microsoft VBA. So I used that, and started making little things that would help make my life easier in the shop. Something I made in this time was a program that could read a spreadsheet and copy data from it into a word document template, that could then be printed with no copy/pasting. That script is still used today, and has saved a lot of slow, boring work. Eventually this was my full time job, developing software to help the shop run smoother.
I served in the U.S. Army as an Aircraft Mechanic for 4 years. It was 2011 and I was 17 years old when I joined. I picked up some very useful skills, and a made a living as an aircraft mechanic for a number of years afterwords.

Bachelors of Computer Engineering - In Progress
GitHub: ( https://github.com/Greyland-TM ) - Most of the code from projects on my resume are available on my GitHub. Except for ones that are proprietary, of course. A lot of it is just practice stuff and silly projects, but it reflects my abilities and experience rather well.
Programming My Toolbox: ( electronics, software and 3d design ) - I've been designing circuitry and writing software to extend the functionality of my toolbox from my days as a mechanic. I've programmed a microcontroller, designed a PCB, and soldered it together. The project is still in progress and I've been having a lot of fun with it.
My Portfolio (www.greyland.dev): This is no longer hosted, but I will be relaunching a new portfolio site soon. For now I also have one I made for university studies. It is certainly a class project, but I am proud of that work. And am passionately interested in aiding in sustainability solutions.
