- Run functionality testing for 12 channel fiber-optic receivers and transmitters - Run loopback testing for 24 channel fiber-optics transceivers - Measuring each channel’s individual optical power output levels using a Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) - The Optical power values found are then used to graph the slope of the extrapolation curve of the
- BERT - Calculating the attenuation level needed to run each channel on the receiver at their minimum optical power threshold values - Power values at the output stage of the attenuator are recorded in order to establish the offset to be implemented when calculating the OMA - Weekly calibrations are performed to insure that the OMA sensitivity measurements recorded on an oscilloscope and the testing system are accurate with the coupled optical power we observe at the device
