I grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, where I developed a strong passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Since I was a kid, I’ve helped my grandparents run their hunting and fishing guide service based out of Kimball, SD, which taught me the value of hard work, how to communicate with all kinds of people, and how to stay dependable in demanding conditions. I also spent a year doing landscaping work, where I gained hands-on experience planting trees, hydroseeding, operating heavy machinery, and building concrete and paver patios. These experiences built my strong work ethic and love for physical, outdoor work. That’s what led me to pursue a career in the powerline industry — something I’ve always been interested in — and I’m currently attending Mitchell Technical College to earn my degree in Power Line Technology.
