Greets and checks-in patients, verifies information, schedules appointments, and updates Electronic Health record (EHR). Facilitates intake procedures such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms and collecting payments for services. Making sure to scan in insurance cards when patient’s check in. Competent job performance and effective communication. Adhere to all organizational, local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Taking telephone encounters for patient calls that need to be routed to the MD or Lab calls for the MD. Rescheduling patients when MDs are out or on vacation. Closing or opening schedules for MDs. Working with MA’s, LVN’s, PA’s, NP’s, and MDs. Incoming faxes/mail are distributed to the correct MDs mailbox or prescription refills are faxed to the refill desk. Working on the in-basket patient call or patient messages for internal medicine department. Working on referrals for internal medicine department. Each day working on the DAR for the next day to verify patient information and insurance information is verified. Printing the schedules for the next day in case of a power outage. Completing all high priority tasks prior to leaving the office for the day.
